Spacecraft Design

Legacy Inquiry

As I mentioned on the “About Me” page, I have a love of Engineering and a passion for Space Exploration. This has led me to wanting to pursue a career in Mechanical Aerospace Engineering. As such, when I was asked to pick a selection of Inquiry possibilities for my Legacy Class, Aerospace and Engineers topics cropped up multiple times, with ideas such as Aerospace History or Mechanical Engineering. Ultimately I decided on Spacecraft Design as my final choice.

Proposal Plan

Spacecraft Design

The first thing I did once I had decided on my Inquiry being Spacecraft Design was to write a Proposal Plan. This Proposal Plan is a short outline of what the Inquiry is, why I wanted to do it, and what I can do with it. My Proposal Plan can be seen here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1s8xAuMEdXt7DK6NdJAq1g0_t3sQagZ6_TqEfn6pylN8/edit.

Informative Interview

Portrait of a Learner

Seeing as my Inquiry (Spacecraft Design) is an engineering based Inquiry, the two Portrait of a Learner Competencies that fit best are Solution Seeker and Inspired Innovator. Solution Seeker fits because it is based around finding specific problems and evaluating a number of solutions. Inspired Innovator fits because it is based around creating and learning through failure, a very common thing in the field of Aerospace Engineering. Both of these Competencies lend themselves well to engineering and learning, which matches my Inquiry well.
